These are the brands that make originality and good design compatible with recycling and reuse.
What do the bags have in common? Daniel Chong , Numon and Reliee Studio , the fans of A Fan Of , the soaps Girl and the cups KeepCup ? They're certainly colorful. They're locally designed products, often handcrafted, and you can find them at OMG BCN, of course.
As you know, our project was born with the aim of giving visibility and making accessible the work of local creators, but there's something more to all these brands: they champion sustainable practices. Their production runs are small, carried out responsibly, and incorporate recycled materials. As lovers of well-made products and the planet, we believe that design and sustainability should go hand in hand, but be careful not to devalue the latter by overusing it (and also beware of greenwashing). Then there are you, who complete the circle when you fall in love with the projects we work with at OMG BCN, with products that, in addition to being aesthetically pleasing, embody certain values. Which one will you choose?

Daniel Chong Slim Backpack and Book Holder.
Smile, please.
Daniel Chong It's a backpack and fanny pack brand from Lavapiés, and inside their bags, a tag invites us to smile. Besides being beautifully finished (their products are lovingly sewn in workshops in Elche, Pamplona, and Madrid), they use recycled cotton upholstery fabrics and fabrics made from recycled PET bottles, vegan leathers, and vegetable-tanned leathers. The most obvious thing, and what we absolutely love about Daniel Chong It's their color palette. You can choose between the Book Holder model, with a large opening and an exterior pocket, or the Slim backpack. Finding two identical models is just as difficult as choosing your favorite.

Fans in action from A Fan Of.
Let the air flow
Fans are great allies in summer, and those from this brand are especially so. A Fan Of They have real substance: they offer a colorful reinterpretation of the traditional accessory to give us a breath of fresh air, clear away bad vibes, and oxygenate the world. These are unique pieces, handcrafted with sustainable materials and processes (polished natural pear wood and organic fabrics dyed with certified dyes), and the prints of the Fresh Roses and Creative Mind models, somewhere between naturalism and abstraction, have us completely captivated.

Numon drawstring backpack.
Backpacks with a story
We have been working with Numon , the vegan and sustainable accessories brand produced in Reus (Tarragona). They started by repurposing household fabrics—curtains, tablecloths, and bedspreads—that were too beautiful to be forgotten in a closet. Their backpacks made from scraps—and therefore, very unique accessories—were a hit, and the brand has grown without losing its essence. Furthermore, they are increasingly mindful of the materials used in their bags and backpacks: they work with recycled cotton and recycled polyester, and use Italian-made, certified faux leather for the straps and handles. Numon It's about preserving a little piece of history.

Muchacha's handmade soaps.
Soaps to feel
We feel that textile craftsmanship is experiencing a golden age, and wool is one of its leading materials. Those who know a lot about the material and harness its full potential are... Muchacha , a Tenerife-based project, produces beautiful and functional objects, such as Feelties soaps. These soaps consist of a bar made with natural coconut and olive oils, encased in a wool felt wrapper that, in addition to its exceptional skin-loving properties, serves as a canvas for creativity. Each soap is a unique, handmade piece, inspired by the colors and nature of the island.

Reliee Studio's parachute bags.
The art of repurposing
We find the practice of reusing resources interesting, especially when it materializes in projects like Reliée Studio . This Barcelona-based brand gives a second life to scraps of fabric, imperfect pieces, and remnants of textiles and leather that the industry would discard, transforming them into handbags through a highly artisanal construction process. Their creations reflect a love of architecture, art, travel, and the Mediterranean influence.

KeepCup Cork Edition Mug.
With my mug, and to go.
Direct from Australia, the mugs have arrived. KeepCup (We've included a non-local brand, but we can't help it.) They've done the math: five takeaway coffees a week represent 250 single-use cups, which equates to 9.21 kg of carbon dioxide and 0.83 kg of plastic waste. What are we waiting for to switch to reusable containers? We like the brand because it champions specialty coffee, local production, and respect for the planet, but above all, we love their cups because they're beautiful design pieces.
